To look forward with surety, we must remember the past ...

The last bursts of the Great Patriotic War thundered 75 years ago. May 9, 1945 became the day of a great triumph of the people, who stopped a powerful machine of Wehrmacht, inflicted a crushing blow to Nazism. Thousands of Soviet soldiers and officers, who had made Europe free from the fascist plague, signed on the walls of the Hitler's lairs. That day was achieved by the blood and sweat, courage and pain. A high price paid by the citizens of the Soviet Union for this victory: twenty-seven million sons and daughters lost their lives in the name of the great purpose - freedom and independence of our Motherland.

The feat of our people in the Great Patriotic War is not only a great achievement of the whole country, but also the merit of each participant in those events. The war came literally in every house, touched every family. In spite of the rapid running time and all new challenges that it poses to the humanity, it is important to maintain and carefully transfer each other the memory of those events, and the victims that have brought our families in the name of the Victory, the feats of our multi-ethnic people.

75 years of the Victory Day is the main, great and sacred holiday, which we celebrate with tears in the eyes, remembering the millions of bygone lives, and with joy for the Victory, that gave us the right to live, deep knowledge of the enormous scale of this landmark event. This is the day of greatness and sorrow, pride and respect. Today we remember the loved ones of those who heroically defended our country, who died a heroic death on the battlefield, who worked selflessly in the rear, who came and restored the ruined country, turning it into a strong great superpower. Thanks to them we can build plans, work, love, get married. These people were not considered appropriate to talk about themselves, about their experiences, or think themselves to be the heroes.

Our memory, our history are the guarantees that these terrible events will not be repeated. I am confident that the celebration every time gives us the force and inspiration for labour and creativity. On this day, the phrase “Let it be no war” is repeated frequently. That is what I now wish to every person, no matter where he lives: in Russia, Kazakhstan, Armenia, Ukraine or anywhere else in the world ... I hope that the energy of creation will allow us every year to transform our world for the better, making it kinder, more honest and do many, many, even small, but necessarily good things.

Eternal glory to the heroes! Eternal memory to all those who gave their lives for the freedom of the Motherland! Low bow for his courage, bravery and heroism! On this great holiday, I wish you all good health, happiness and prosperity, and to the veterans - longevity, care, attention and warm communication with the families and friends!
