Environmental protection

At the current stage, the JSC IUEC is making use of the capacities of the Angarsk Electrolysis Chemical Complex and does not intend to set up enrichment capacities of its own. Therefore, any additional burden to the environment due to the International Center’s activities is avoided. Thereat, the daily environmental monitoring in the AECC location region demonstrates highest environmental safety levels of the production facilities.

Given the JSC IUEC is an international project and its operations are to be supervised by the IAEA, ever more rigorous international environmental standards can be assumed to apply at the AECC in future. This will remain true if the IUEC Project is moving to the investment stage, i.e. the building of own enrichment capacities of the JSC IUEC.
